Online Therapy

Teletherapy services are available to Minnesota residents.

Life is already so hectic… how will I fit therapy in?

Is it hard to find time to commute to and from another office?

Do you want therapy but don’t want the hassle of finding child care?

Are you ALWAYS working or in class, and you shrink at the thought of adding one more thing to your schedule?

Do you have limited access to transportation?

If so, read on… online therapy (sometimes called “teletherapy”) is probably just what you’re looking for!

Comfort, convenience, and flexibility…

We provide HIPAA-compliant video sessions that give you the security, comfort, and confidentiality of a therapist’s office.

HIPAA-compliant – we know this term is thrown around a lot. What it means for YOU is that your confidential information is kept confidential with the technology that we use for our video sessions and the locations that we use on our end for our video sessions. Just as confidential as sitting in our office with us.

This means that you can log in to your video session from the comfort of your couch in your favorite pajamas. Grab that cup of coffee or tea and a cozy blanket and settle into a favorite spot by that window in the house that has the best light. You can even grab an extra hour of rest with video sessions instead of driving.

Free from the internal battle of requesting time off of work, you can find private space in your office or even in your vehicle where you feel at home, grounded in your own environment, and confidence of privacy.

Online therapy really allows you to finally get the help that maybe you have been putting off for months, maybe even years of putting yourself last… no more excuse of “not enough time.” At last – therapy can come to you.

Let us come to you and very truly meet you where you are using online therapy.

Teletherapy has all the benefits of in-person therapy…

Online therapy has proven to be just as effective as traditional in-person therapy. In fact, since online therapy breaks down barriers like time, transportation, and ease of access, it has allowed for many more people to get therapy than ever!

Meaning – value is in the eye of the client! If talking to your therapist from your couch in your pajamas is the thing that allows you to attend weekly, resulting in progress. That is much more valuable than in-person services if you canceled and were not consistent.

Online therapy removes the excuses.

You will no longer be worried about requesting time off. No longer anxious about making it to your appointment in time. You are no longer stressed about running into someone you know in the waiting room.

Consistency is key to progress and success. Remove those barriers and begin to transform with online therapy.

Here’s what you need to create …

All you need are just a computer or smartphone, a stable Internet connection, and a secure and confidential place that is quiet and where you feel comfortable talking.

Let’s break it down to really knock out those barriers:

  • A Wi-Fi connection allows for optimal sessions; an LTE connection will work, too.
  • If you have a PC/laptop, or Mac/iPad, you will have the optimal connection to your online session.
  • If you have an android or iPhone smartphone with stable Internet, you should have a good quality connection to your online session.
  • If the video sessions are interrupted by technical difficulties, we will call you on your phone to resume.

Privacy is key for both confidentiality and your comfort.

Privacy can be found alone at home or at work in a quiet room where you are confident you will not be heard. In addition to a quiet, private space, we recommend that clients use earbuds to block out noise further and create privacy. Some clients will use their private space as their car (either at home or work). Please note: for safety reasons, sessions will not be held while you are driving, and for privacy reasons, they will not be held while you are in the car with another person driving.

Tips: if you are using a phone, you will want to set the phone setting to DO NOT DISTURB while in your session to avoid interruption with the camera (this is particularly important with androids). You might also want to find a place to set the phone/camera so that you do not have to hold the phone for the entire session and can instead settle in, ground yourself and get present.

It is essential that you feel comfortable enough to share anything you would share in our office. We are creating a safe space virtually, so that takes us working together to trust in privacy to ensure that you can share about anything to get you to your stated goals.

Therapy can be challenging, and online therapy sometimes gives clients the (virtual) space to feel more comfortable sharing and being vulnerable. However, if you are not certain about your privacy on your end, it will most likely impede your ability to allow for this vulnerability.

No more barriers. So what else are you avoiding?

A couple of years ago, turning on your video was terrifying. But you did it, because you had to. Now it has become part of everyday life.

I wonder how many other things you have been avoiding? How much bigger do they get every time you avoid them? I wonder if they, too, can become as small, mundane, and commonplace as turning on your video…

Because of this change, we can now meet online from anywhere in Minnesota.

Spend less time on schedules and commuting… and more time figuring out your life. Explore online therapy today!
