About Kaitlyn

Who is Kaitlyn Brisson, LPCC?

Hey there! My name is Kaitlyn.

I am a mental health therapist helping teen and tween girls redefine what it means to “be enough.”

I know how easy it is to get stuck in self-doubt and overthink everything. I understand that, as a young woman, the last thing you need is another person telling you what you are doing wrong and how to fix it.

So you can be sure, I am not here to:

judge, fix, or place the agenda of a parent, teacher or other adult on you.

As Your therapist, I am here to:

Listen: I am endlessly curious about your unique experiences and how you think and feel about them.

Demonstrate compassion: You deserve a safe space to explore or vent your feelings. None of your feelings will ever be too big for me.

Provide security: What is said in session, stays in session. You will be assured of your confidentiality and trust that I will keep your experiences private.

Be transparent: No hidden agendas or passive comments to leave you feeling confused. Honesty is very important to me, so there isn’t anything so tough that we can’t explore together.

What made you want to become a therapist?

I noticed so much time and energy being spent on trying to prevent failure or rejection, that people end up feeling more alone and burnt out.  I also believed that one person’s nonjudgemental ear could change a person’s path.

Life isn’t perfect, yet so many people try to be.

I became a therapist to help clients understand that they don’t have to carry their emotional weight alone. I help clients free themselves from the unrealistic expectations of who they “should” be, so they can instead focus on their wonderfully imperfect selves.

How will we work together?

At Foundations Mental Health Services, I offer both in-person or online therapy services.

Even though therapy can be uncomfortable, I take special care to build trust with my clients so that you can talk openly about fears, anxieties, and vulnerabilities. I offer art, music, and other writing activities to help you communicate when things are too difficult to say out loud.

My work is compassionate and encouraging. I focus on helping you to understand deeper motivations and to regain your sense of control over your own body.

What about your education and experience?

I graduated from Gonzaga University in Washington with my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Since 2019 (post-graduation), I have worked with numerous families and children of all ages on a variety of concerns including: family transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, conflict, anger, and loss.

I joined Foundations Mental Health Services in 2020 as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) focusing on serving children and families.  In 2022 I became fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

I am finding my passion in working with adolescent girls (tweens and teens) struggling with anxiety, OCD and trauma who feel overwhelmed, angry and alone.

Together, we will honor your pain, embrace self-kindness, sit with our own imperfections, and feel more connected.

Finding the right support team is possible – you are not alone.
