Who is Kaitlyn Brisson, LPCC?
Hey there! My name is Kaitlyn.
I am a mental health therapist specializing in helping adolescent girls redefine their sense of self-worth.
I recognize the challenges associated with self-doubt and overthinking. As a young woman, you do not need another individual pointing out your mistakes and instructing you on how to correct them.
As your therapist, I will:
- Listen: I am genuinely interested in your experiences and thoughts.
- Show compassion: You deserve a safe space to explore your feelings, no matter how big they are.
- Provide security: What we discuss remains confidential.
- Be transparent: I value honesty and clear communication, ensuring we can explore any topic together.
What made you want to become a therapist?
Seeing people invest time to avoid failure or rejection often leads to feelings of isolation and burnout. I believe that having a non-judgmental listener could positively influence an individual’s path.
Life is not perfect, although many strive for perfection.
I chose to become a therapist to assist clients in understanding that they do not have to manage their emotional burdens alone. I help clients shed unrealistic expectations and embrace their true selves.
How will we work together?
At Foundations Mental Health Services, I provide both in-person and online therapy services.
While therapy can sometimes be challenging, I prioritize building trust with my clients to facilitate open discussions about fears, anxieties, and vulnerabilities. I incorporate art, music, and writing activities to assist in communication when verbal expression proves difficult.
My practice is characterized by compassion and encouragement. I am dedicated to helping you understand deeper motivations and regain control over your own body.
What about your education and experience?
I graduated from Gonzaga University in Washington with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Since 2019, following my graduation, I have worked with numerous families and children of all ages on a variety of concerns including family transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, conflict, anger, and loss.
In 2020, I joined Foundations Mental Health Services as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) focusing on serving children and families. By 2022, I became fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
I have developed a particular interest in working with adolescent girls (tweens and teens) who are struggling with anxiety, anger, and isolation. Together, we will honor your pain, embrace self-kindness, acknowledge our imperfections, and work towards feeling more connected.
Finding the right support team is possible – you are not alone.
